Mehr 1404

This page keeps the memory of 262 people who gave their lives in Mehr 1404 or whose fate was decided in this month; from 1 Mehr 1404 to 30 Mehr 1404. In this list Mehr 1404 is a month of execution: 251 people were hanged in this one month. 4 people were killed by government forces outside the protests and one person lost their life in custody. 4 people are at risk of execution, one person was sentenced to death and the sentence of one person was upheld.

Days of execution

The day 23 Mehr 1404, with 20 names, is the day with the most names this month. After it come 2 Mehr 1404 with 17 names, 9 Mehr 1404 with 16 names, and 13 Mehr and 27 Mehr 1404 with 15 names each. That is, on five days of this month, eighty-three people were executed.

The executions are recorded in many cities: Karaj with 14 names, Shiraz and Isfahan with 11 each, Kermanshah and Ahvaz with 10 each, Ilam with 7, Semnan with 6, Malayer, Khorramabad and Qom with 5 each, and Nahavand and Gorgan with 4 names each. The ages range from 22 to 60 years, and the median is 33 years. The sources have written of 47 of these 262 people that they were women; a striking number for one month. No one was under 18 at the time of death.

Children who grew up

Two of those executed this month had been arrested as adolescents. Mohammadreza Shiheki (Sanginzehi), 25 years old, according to the source “was arrested at the age of 16 on the charge of ‘murder’ and sentenced to death.” His sentence was carried out at dawn on 10 Mehr 1404 in Iranshahr Prison. Ali Aghajari Peyvand was also arrested at the age of 17, and the source writes that his sentence “was carried out on 28 Mehr 1404 in Sepidar Prison in Ahvaz, when he was 22 years old.” The next day, his body was buried in the village of Korreh Siah Shirin. The charge attributed to these two is the court's account, not proof of guilt.

Nahid Hemmati

Nahid Hemmati was executed at dawn on 23 Mehr 1404, the day with the most names this month, in Nahavand Prison. The source calls her “a woman from Hamadan who, after nearly four years of imprisonment, was executed without the details of her charge and the course of her trial being published.” She is one of the 47 women whom the sources mention in this month, and the only one of them of whom we know anything on this page.

Fathers

Ghasem Rahmatzehi, 49 years old, in Birjand, “married and with 7 children,” was executed on 22 Mehr 1404. Ebrahim Reisi, 45 years old, in Minab, whom the sources call the father of seven children, and Morteza Darvishi, 45 years old, “married, with one child,” were both hanged on 21 Mehr.
