This page keeps the memory of 147 people who gave their lives in Mordad 1404 or whose fate was decided in this month; from 1 Mordad 1404 to 30 Mordad 1404. In this list Mordad 1404 is a month of execution: 141 people were hanged in this one month. 4 people were killed by government forces outside the protests and 2 people are at risk of execution.

Days of execution

In Mordad 1404, the executions are gathered on a few days with many names: 29 Mordad 1404 with 13 names, 15 Mordad 1404 with 12 names, 12 Mordad and 28 Mordad 1404 with 11 names each, and 5 Mordad 1404 with 10 names. On the last two days alone, 28 and 29 Mordad, twenty-four people lost their lives.

Isfahan, with 19 names, has the largest share this month; after it come Shiraz with 11, Karaj and Kermanshah with 7 each, Khorramabad and Mashhad with 6 each, Ahvaz with 5, Rasht with 4, and Arak, Qom, Tabriz and Ilam with 3 names each. The ages range from 23 to 52 years, and the median is 35 years. The sources have written of 16 people that they were women. No one under 18 is recorded in this month.

28 Mordad 1404

On 28 Mordad 1404, among the eleven people who were executed, five men appear in the sources with their children. Hassan Kahrazehi, 52 years old, and Abedin Kahrazehi, 26 years old, who have the same family name, were hanged on the same day. Allahnazar Tajik, 30 years old, and Abdolraouf Nourzehi, 50 years old, were also executed on the same day. The sources have not written the same number of children for these four men; from one to seven children. Milad Narouei, 29 years old, in Kerman, who according to the source “had six children,” was also executed on this day. We do not hide the inconsistency of the sources; what is clear is that on one day, many homes were left without a father.

Other days

Amir Ghanbari, 26 years old, and Isa Narouei, 35 years old, both from Minab and both “married and with two children,” were executed on 6 Mordad 1404. Bahman Shibak, 35 years old, married and with children, was hanged on 19 Mordad. Farhang Faramarzi, 30 years old, married and with children, and Zaker Aramesh, 25 years old, unmarried, are recorded in our list as at risk of execution; we do not know their fate today. The charges in the cases of those executed and sentenced in Mordad 1404 are what the authorities have said, and this page does not regard them as a verdict of their guilt. For most of these 141 people executed, our sources do not have even these few lines about their family.

Rahman Rasoulzadeh

Rahman Rasoulzadeh, 45 years old, “father of one child,” was killed on 26 Mordad 1404. The source writes: “Baneh; Rahman Rasoulzadeh killed while working as a kolbar by the shooting of border guards.” A man who carried loads on his back to provide bread for his child lost his life in the border mountains.

Sources and incompleteness

These 147 names are not all of those who were executed or killed in Mordad 1404; the real number is higher, and from many executions no name has come out. We record only names that have a source. The sources of this page are the Iran Human Rights Society with 149 cases, the Kurdistan Human Rights Network with 12, Haalvsh with 11, HRANA with 4, and the Abdorrahman Boroumand Center and the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (English-language) with one case each. We have details for only 11 people. If you knew one of those executed in Mordad 1404, send us your memory or correction.
