- Despite full cooperation with the authorities, Farid was first sentenced to 10 years in prison by Branch 26 of the Islamic Revolutionary Court of Tehran, but after a retrial Branch 23 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court changed his sentence to death on the charge of "spying" for Israel
