Dey 1404 in Fouladshahr
The list for Fouladshahr in Dey 1404 begins before the peak days: on 10 Dey 1404 one person was killed. Then on 18 Dey 1404, 10 people and on 19 Dey 1404, 8 people lost their lives, and on 21 Dey 1404 one more. Three years earlier, on 31 Shahrivar 1401, 2 people from this city had been killed. The ages range from 18 to 58 years, and the median is 26 years. The sources have written of one person that she was a woman. No one under 18 is recorded on this page.
Mahsa Mougouei
That one woman is Mahsa Mougouei. She was 18 years old, “daughter of Mohammadali,” and studied in the natural sciences track. The source writes that she “studied hard to pass the university entrance exam in dentistry.” She was also an athlete and “had won 108 medals in these three disciplines.” She “dreamed of becoming a doctor and spending part of her income on helping people in need,” and “her other dream was to bring home a medal for Iran at the Olympics.”
Mahsa was killed by pellet rounds on 31 Shahrivar 1401. The source writes of “39 holes in her upper body and spine.” One of those close to her has said: “I wanted to see what my daughter's sin was, that she protested with empty hands and you riddled her body with bullets?”
Those killed in Dey 1404
Dariush Ansari Bakhtiarvand, 37 years old, was killed on 10 Dey 1404 and died before reaching the hospital. According to the source, the head of the criminal investigation police of the province of Isfahan, without mentioning his name, confirmed the death of “a 37-year-old citizen” in Fouladshahr.
Amin Ghobadi, 20 years old, of Bakhtiari origin and a hairdresser, was killed on 18 Dey 1404 by a military bullet to the heart. Agents took his body away and demanded a huge sum for its handover. Reza Ahmadi, 43 years old, also Bakhtiari, “had four children”; his family had a cattle farm, and he also worked as a construction labourer. After his death two of his brothers and his sister's child were arrested.
Amirmohammad Hatami, 19 years old, was a mechanic's apprentice and “dreamed of having a mechanic's shop of his own.” He “helped to support his mother and sister.” According to the source, on 19 Dey he was hit by a bullet in the leg and arrested. His family “had no news of him for more than 20 days” and finally received his body; the agents had shot him in the right eye from close range.
For the other twenty-nine people on this page, the sources have written nothing but a name and sometimes an age and a date. We do not know whether the ten people who were killed in Fouladshahr on 18 Dey 1404 were factory workers or students, fathers or just out of school. Each of them, like Mahsa and Amin, had dreams.
