Ordibehesht 1404

This page keeps the memory of 151 people who gave their lives in Ordibehesht 1404 or whose fate was decided in this month; from 1 Ordibehesht 1404 to 31 Ordibehesht 1404. 138 of them were executed in this month. 5 people were killed by government forces outside the protests and one person lost their life in custody. 3 people were sentenced to death and 4 others are at risk of execution.

The end of the month

Ordibehesht 1404 is a month that ended in haste: on its last two days, 29 Ordibehesht 1404 with 14 names and 31 Ordibehesht 1404 with 17 names, thirty-one people were executed; the days with the most names this month. Before that, 10 Ordibehesht 1404 appears with 12 names, 22 Ordibehesht 1404 with 10 names and 8 Ordibehesht 1404 with 7 names.

The executions were carried out in many cities: Karaj with 13 names, Isfahan with 12, Shiraz with 9, Zahedan with 8, Khorramabad and Tabriz with 6 each, Yasuj, Ahvaz, Zanjan, Birjand and Yazd with 5 each, and Arak with 4 names. Among the provinces, Alborz with 13 names, Isfahan with 12 and Sistan and Baluchestan with 10 and Fars with 9 names are in the lead. The ages range from 13 to 67 years, and the median is 34 years. One person under 18 is recorded, and the sources have written of 27 people that they were women.

The fathers of 29 Ordibehesht

On 29 Ordibehesht 1404, among the fourteen people who were executed, the sources have introduced three men together with their children. Abdollah Pashan, 36 years old, and Ali Reisi, 36 years old, were both “married and with three children,” and Abdolmajid Faramarzi, 27 years old, in Zahedan, “married and with two children.” On one day, at least eight children were left without a father.

Other days

Khosrow Sarani, 42 years old, “married and with two children,” and Ali Nouri, 38 years old, in Birjand, “married and with one child,” were both executed on 14 Ordibehesht 1404. Mohammad Sarani, 41 years old, in Mashhad, “married and with two children,” was also executed in this month. Mohammadali Naseri, whom the sources call married and with children, was hanged on 3 Ordibehesht 1404.

About some others, the sources do not agree on the number of children. Parviz Dastkaleh, 40 years old, and Abdolghaffar Barahouei, 47 years old, in Isfahan, were both executed on 10 Ordibehesht 1404; the reports give them from one to nine children. Allahabad Minouei and Mohammad Tatouzehi, 26 years old, in Isfahan, were both executed on 8 Ordibehesht, and the sources call them fathers of one or two children. We do not hide these inconsistencies; what is clear is that with each of these executions, a home was left without a father.

Peyman Farahavar in Rasht, “with one young child,” was sentenced to death in this month, and we do not know his fate today. Whatever charge appears in the cases of those executed in Ordibehesht 1404 is what the authorities have said, not proof of guilt.

Sources and incompleteness

These 151 names are not all of those who were executed or killed in Ordibehesht 1404; the real number is higher, and from many executions no name has come out. The list for this month contains only names that have a source behind them. The sources of this page are the Iran Human Rights Society with 184 cases, Haalvsh with 33, the Kurdistan Human Rights Network with 17, HRANA with 3 and the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (English-language) with one case. We have details for 28 people, and some entries have only one source. If you knew one of those executed in Ordibehesht 1404, send us your memory or correction.
