Dey 1404 in Khorramabad

The year 1404, with 75 names, makes up more than half of this page. On one day, 18 Dey 1404, 16 people of Khorramabad were killed; names that in the sources repeatedly appear together with the Masour neighbourhood and Naser Khosrow Street. The other years are mostly years of executions: 14 names in 1402, 12 names in 1396, 9 names in 1401, 8 names in 1403, 7 names in 1395 and 6 names in 1394. The days 5 Dey 1394, 24 Tir 1396, 11 Mordad 1402 and 11 Ordibehesht 1404, with 3 names each, are days on which several people gave their lives together in Parsilon Prison or in the city.

The ages range from 15 to 60 years, and the median is 35 years. 7 of these 146 people were under 18, and the sources have written of 19 people that they were women.

Two adolescents

Mohammad Taha Sepahvand, 16 years old, “was a ninth-grade student and wanted to become ‘a famous person’.” The source writes that on 19 Dey 1404 in Naser Khosrow Street he was first stopped by pellets to his legs and then killed by a military bullet to the chest. He always used to say: “Better to die with a good name than to live on in disgrace!”

Mohammadhossein Parnoun, 15 years old, was “a young boxer,” and the source writes: “Mohammadhossein trained day and night at the ‘Shaghayegh’ sports club in Khorramabad.” He “was regarded as one of the young boxing talents in Khorramabad.” His body was found in the morgue of Khorramabad and handed over to the family on the condition that no ceremony be held.

Men from Masour and Naser Khosrow

Saeed Joudaki Rashnou, 35 years old, was killed on 18 Dey 1404 in the Masour neighbourhood; the source writes: “The agents aimed their fire at Saeed's heart.” Mohsen Hosseinian-Moghaddam, 39 years old, a resident of the same neighbourhood, was killed the same night by a bullet to the head. The source says: “For three days after this, Mohsen's family searched all the prisons and morgues for him.” In the end one of his relatives recognised him by the tattoos on his body. Sajjad Sahragard Rimaleh, 37 years old, from the village of Rimaleh, whom one source calls “father of three children,” was wounded on Naser Khosrow Square and lost his life in the Ashayer hospital. Hojjat Ahmadian, “a retired employee of the Khorramabad municipality” and “father of three children,” was also killed, and according to the source, his family was put under pressure to declare the cause of his death as suicide.

Those executed in Parsilon

Mehdi Ranjkesh, 25 years old, “had a physical and mental disability and was under the care of the State Welfare Organisation.” According to the source, he spent five years in Parsilon Prison in Khorramabad without medication and without medical services, and on the day before his execution he asked human rights organisations for help in a video message. He was hanged on 11 Dey 1394. Ahmad Bazvand, 35 years old, “father of a six-year-old daughter,” was executed on 15 Mehr 1405; the last name on this page.
