Around midnight, while returning home, he was wounded by birdshot and live rounds fired by agents of the Islamic Republic government, and on 19 Dey he lost his life in hospital due to the severity of his injuries. Meysam had a 7-year-old daughter and lived in Parand near Tehran. He had a furniture shop that was closed during the Dey 1404 protests in solidarity with the strike of the bazaar merchants. According to informed sources, around midnight on Thursday, 18 Dey, when he was returning home, he was shot by agents from the top of the Parand shopping centre: "They had shot him once in the thigh, and one of the bullets had gone through his lower back. He had been hit by pellets in the buttocks. Neighbours found his wounded body and informed his family. The family, out of fear of arrest, kept him at home until morning and took him to hospital on the morning of 19 Dey."
