One day: 17 Shahrivar 1397

The heaviest day of this year is 17 Shahrivar 1397 with 18 names, and this day has two faces. On the morning of that day, according to the sources, Zanyar Moradi, 30 years old, Loghman Moradi, 35 years old, and Ramin Hossein Panahi, 25 years old, were executed together in Evin Prison. Zanyar had said: “I was ready to accept death rather than return to those conditions.” And on the same day, according to the sources, an IRGC missile attack on the meeting place of the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan in Koya in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq killed several people; among them Rahman Pirouti, 66 years old, father of five children, Farough Hassan Khayyat, 33 years old, who had studied agriculture, and Mansour Akbarpour, 32 years old, who had a dental laboratory in Mahabad. One of those close to Mansour said: “My mother never returned to a normal life.” For this reason Koy Sanjaq appears with 15 names in the list of cities of this year.

Zanyar's father, Eghbal Moradi, 57 years old, was a street vendor in Penjwen who had worked for human rights for years. He was killed on 27 Tir 1397 near the border between Iran and Iraqi Kurdistan by two unknown persons with three bullets; his son was executed less than two months later. This sentence of Eghbal Moradi remains: “And this time the father must be born in my ‘eye’.”
