He had said: “My sentence was issued by the intelligence service, and in the Sanandaj detention centre they told me the death sentence, and hiring a lawyer makes no difference.” Kaveh (Abubakr) Sharifi, 31 years old, who taught religious studies and sometimes dug water wells to make a living, had related that the agents told him: “They used to say, move your hands well and keep your face cheerful so that nobody suspects you have been in solitary confinement or have been mistreated.”

Mohammad Yavar Rahimi, 31 years old, who was a mathematics student and because of poverty carried passengers in his car in Sanandaj, and his brother Bahman Rahimi, 38 years old, father of a 10-year-old child, were both executed on the same morning.
